Gautham Menon directed ‘Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein’ clocked 20 years today and fans can’t hold back their emotions. While the musical love story was a huge hit among the audience for its sparkling chemistry between Dia Mirza and R Madhavan, it also garnered praises for Saif Ali Khan in a key role.
Celebrating the two decades of the film, Dia Mirza recently opened up to a news portal and shared that each year around this time, she recalls precious moments from the making of the ‘RHTDM’. Calling the film an introduction to her new creative journey and the Bollywood industry, she is grateful for the film and the film team who made her believed that she had chosen the right path for herself.
She added that although she was very young during the time of her debut right after winning the Miss Asia Pacific title, however, the cast and crew members of ‘RHTDM’ made her feel that she belonged with them.
Further recalling her iconic character Reena from the film, she shared that she connects herself to the role owing to her poise and dignity. Talking about the relevance of the film even after 20 years, she said that before seeing the world through the ‘gender lens’ she already knew how to stand her ground and refused to be intimidated or bullied.
Talking about the music of the film which is still etched in everyone’s hearts, she called the musical film ‘soul filling’ as the songs and dialogues still takes back the audience to a ‘sweeter, simpler’ time.
Dia was last seen in ‘Thappad’ starring Taapsee Pannu.
