Former assistant commissioner of police Shamsher Singh Pathan in a letter to the commissioner of police has alleged that in the November 26, 2008 terror attack, IPS officer Param Bir Singh, posted then with ATS, took away terrorist Ajmal Kasab’s mobile phone from the custody of a constable and never returned. Singh did not inform his higher ups, the letter said. Pathan stated that his batchmate NR Mali who was posted at the DB Marg police had on the fateful night when police team arrested Ajmal kasab at Girgaum chowpatty, Mali and his team had recovered one mobile phone from Kasab and was in the safe custody of constable Kamble but DIG Singh took away the said mobile phone.
