AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee’s Dharam Prachar Committee conducted a religious examination in February 2021 in which 20 meritorious students were honored by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Bibi Jagir Kaur with a special prize money and a memento.
Apart from this she also honored the three first place students of Sikh Religious Studies Correspondence Course with special amount. Bibi Jagir Kaur handed over checks of Rs.5100 to the first place winners, Rs.4100 to the second place winners and Rs.3100 to the third place winners. She also honored religious teachers and school heads.On this occasion Bibi Jagir Kaur informed that for a long time the religious examination conducted by the Shiromani Committee has been spreading Sikh consciousness among the students of schools / colleges and thousands of students sit for this examination every year.At the same time, the two-year Sikh Religious Studies Correspondence Course is connecting ordinary devotees with Gurbani and Sikh history. Out of these, meritorious students are honored by the SGPC with special amount, under which 23 students have been honored today. He said that the objective of the SGPC was to connect as many students and sangats as possible with Sikhism for which both these examinations were proving to be effective.
SGPC Chief said that during the religious examination held in February 2021, 1093 students got scholarships while 20 students got merit.
On this occasion Shiromani Committee member Gurpreet Singh Jhabbar, Bibi Joginder Kaur Dharamkot, Deputy Secretary. Simarjit Singh, . Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, Superintendent Dr. Malkit Singh Bahirwal, OSD Sukhbir Singh, S. Palwinder Singh, Superintendent of Publicity, Prof. Sukhdev Singh in charge, S. Kartar Singh, Bhai Sarabjit Singh Head Pracharak, Principal Swaran Singh etc. were present.
